Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport is the "future world's largest airport" currently being expanded in Dubai. Located in Jebel Ali, approximately 30 kilometers southwest of downtown Dubai, it is a 4F-class international airport. The airport expansion project has a total planned investment of about 35 billion US dollars, aiming to build a world-class aviation hub with an annual passenger capacity of 260 million.

Expansion Scale: Upon completion of the expansion, Al Maktoum International Airport is planned to cover a total area of 70 square kilometers — five times the size of the existing Dubai International Airport. The first phase focuses on the construction of the West Terminal, which is designed to have seven floors, an area of 800,000 square meters, and an annual passenger capacity of 45 million. The terminal will be connected by an automated people mover (APM) system. The long-term goal is to achieve an annual passenger throughput of 260 million and a cargo throughput of 12 million tons.
